Why I'm Breaking Up With Carbs...

My low carb journey to weight loss!
I'm addicted to fried foods, and things smothered in chili and cheese! It doesn't help that I'm from TEXAS, home of the Fried everything! I'm 5'5 and my goal is to lose about 75lbs. AND I'm getting married next October and I want to look fabulous in a wedding dress!!
I'm blogging the entire experience here. Now for most, this would be easy, buy some veggies, grill your chicken and beef for the week for lunch, dinner, etc. But here is the thing, I do NOT cook, ever! Which is probably the main reason why I'm where I'm at, I lived off of fast food, and I still do. I eat out every single day of the week, so it's a bit more challenging for me to be on this new low carb diet. Oh yeah, it's not a diet, it's a "lifestyle change". I have the help of my wonderful boyfriend who decided he'd join me on this journey. Hope you enjoy reading my blog! xoxo Gina

Day seventy one

Today I start my walking!!

Lunch- Fuddruckers-  A big juicy hamburger, no bun, with extra lettuce & extra pickles!

Dinner- El Rey Taqueria- Inside of 1 beef fajita taco w/lettuce & tomato & 1 rotisserie chicken taco w/lettuce & tomato

I walked 2.93 miles at Memorial Park, which the walk to and from my car, I'd say I got in 3 miles!





Day seventy

Lunch- Teotihuacan (Yes we love this place!) The inside of a shredded chicken taco and the inside of a beef fajita taco, and the inside of a cheese enchilada

Dinner- Outback steakhouse- Grilled chicken cobb salad w/ranch

Day sixty nine

Today was my boyfriends company picnic at Splashtown, a waterpark in Houston, TX. We had lots of fun and I was excited to get in that much calorie burning activity!

Breakfast-Sonic- Inside of a breakfast burrito (cheese, eggs, & sausage)

Lunch- Splashtown-Brisket & Salad with Kraft ranch packet-1carb (not pictured)

Dinner- Teotihuacan- Inside of Enchilada Rojas w/ pinto bean juice.





Here is a picture of me below. We all got free t-shirts and somehow the only shirt that was left after everyone got theirs was an adult large, which I am wearing, proudly. :)

Friday Weigh In =/

After weighing in this morning and only losing half of a pound, (that's for two weeks) I'm thinking I've hit a plateau. After doing some research, I came across this article from Atkins.

I realized that I'm missing a couple of things, shame on me for being lazy and getting the Atkins cliff notes at the beginning, lol.


Starting Monday, I will be adding the following to my every day routine:


Walking 3 miles per day


Daily multivitamin with minerals, including potassium, magnesium and calcium, but without iron




Omega-3s in the form of fish oil or an alternative

Mid Week Rant about BIG BUTTS!

I haven't been exercising like I should be. I mean I did a lot of walking and climbing of stairs while on vacation but didn't see any results on the scale. Now I'm seeing my waist shrink, but my butt and hips are still HUGE!! I don't understand this, I don't want to have those "baby making hips", I don't have any children, I shouldn't be cursed with big hips!! I don't want to have to buy the "curvy" fit jeans, I want regular jeans!!! I am near the weight and pant size I was about a year and a half ago when I met my boyfriend, but some of my jeans still don't fit because of my hips, the shirt that I was wearing when I met him fits, but the jeans,  I'll have to lose about another 4 inches in my hips for them to button comfortably. I just don't get it.

I am pretty excited because this morning we found out that my boyfriend gets to start working 1st shift beginning Monday, which means I will have an exercise partner!!! That's probably my biggest problem when it comes to exercising after work, I lack motivation because I don't wanna go by myself. So I cannot wait to start walking Memorial Park again!! And I really can't wait to see bigger results on the scale and in my jeans!!

Day sixty three

Today we slept in, drove to Baltimore, Maryland, and had a late lunch near the water.

Lunch- Phillips Seafood- grilled chicken caesar salad

Dinner-Starbucks unsweetened black tea with 1 sweet n low, 1 tiny bag of peanuts and 1/4 of a bag of 100 calorie cheese nips on the plane.

Day sixty one

Today is my cousin's wedding day!! I had a few fork fulls of breakfast while I was getting ready this morning, some peanuts on the way to the rehearsal, and some salad for dinner along with a few strips of brisket and a little bit of pulled pork. Today was a such a crazy day, I didn't take pictures of my food at all today, but my dress had no pockets for my phone!! lol I also did not weigh in today... Here are some pics that my boyfriend snapped of me at the wedding.

Day sixty

Today is the rehearsal and getting things together for the wedding that is tomorrow.

Breakfast- Shoney's- Eggs w/ cheese, bacon, and sausage- It was a buffet and like always, I tend to serve myself way too much, because this is probably how much I would have eaten before, so I pretty much ate half of this.

Lunch- Pavillion Cafe @ Crowne Plaza- Grilled chicken caesar salad paired with a beautiful view of downtown Richmond, VA

Dinner- Mc Donalds- Late night snack- Burger w/ cheese, mayo, mustard, pickles, lettuce, & tomato, no bun of course. (not pictured)

Day fifty nine

We arrived at the Bush Intercontinental Airport at 6:00am, after going through security we had breakfast near our terminal. We had a layover in Chicago and that's where we grabbed lunch, my mom picked us up from the airport in Washington D.C and we had a late dinner in Fredericksburg, Virginia! Busy busy traveling day for us!

Breakfast- Bubba's Bayou Grill- Bacon & Cheese Omelet

Lunch- Salad Works- Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad

Dinner- Longhorn Steakhouse- Grilled chicken with a house salad w/ ranch(not pictured) -I don't eat broccoli so I gave the veggies to my boyfriend.

Day fifty seven

I'm leaving this week for my cousins wedding in Virginia, so this work day was a long one on account that I'll have the rest of the week off. I started with breakfast...

Breakfast- Burger King- Breakfast Burrito without the tortilla

Lunch- Took a nap in my truck for lunch... =/

Dinner- Chick Fil A- Grilled chicken sandwich (no bread)




Day fifty six

Lunch- Mc Donalds- 2 McDouble's no bun

Dinner- Los Cucos Mexican Cafe- My boyfriend and I ordered a Parilla which comes with different kinds of meat and guacamole, sour cream, cheddar cheese, and rice & beans, Out of this I ate, a couple strips of beef fajita, chicken & cheese from the quesadilla, guacamole, cheese, & the pinto bean juice.
