Why I'm Breaking Up With Carbs...

My low carb journey to weight loss!
I'm addicted to fried foods, and things smothered in chili and cheese! It doesn't help that I'm from TEXAS, home of the Fried everything! I'm 5'5 and my goal is to lose about 75lbs. AND I'm getting married next October and I want to look fabulous in a wedding dress!!
I'm blogging the entire experience here. Now for most, this would be easy, buy some veggies, grill your chicken and beef for the week for lunch, dinner, etc. But here is the thing, I do NOT cook, ever! Which is probably the main reason why I'm where I'm at, I lived off of fast food, and I still do. I eat out every single day of the week, so it's a bit more challenging for me to be on this new low carb diet. Oh yeah, it's not a diet, it's a "lifestyle change". I have the help of my wonderful boyfriend who decided he'd join me on this journey. Hope you enjoy reading my blog! xoxo Gina

Day ten

If I do get a chance to grab breakfast, it's either eggs with bacon or this Atkins bar with 2 net carbs. I'm not to fond of the Atkin's shakes, but if I'm hungry enough I'm sure I'll grab it one of these days. During the week it's harder for me to get a breakfast in because I take lunch at 11:00am and I actually want to be able to eat something and not still be full from breakfast.

This morning I was HUNGRY! I grabbed an Atkins Caramel Chew Bar to hold me over until lunch. On Wednesdays we do lunch for our residents, so today we made chili cheese dogs. Normally I could easily eat to loaded chili dogs, but unfortunately, chili has way too many carbs, not to mention the bun.

I had some turkey and cheese left over from Saturday so I grabbed that instead. But after smelling how good the hot dogs were, I got a weenie, sprinkled some cheese, popped it in the microwave, squirted some mustard on it and added just a teaspoon of chili! It wasn't a lot but just enough to kick my craving. It was delicious!!

In the evening we had a Black History Program/Pot Luck, I felt as if I were on temptation island surrounded by oven baked macaroni and cheese and 2 different kinds of potato salad, yum!! My meat choices were brisket, ox tails (yuck!) and rotisserie chicken. I grabbed a little chunk of chicken and a couple of slices of brisket. The brisket was a little too rare for my taste and it also had some sort of gravy on it, (didn't wanna chance it) so I ate the chicken. Since it was homemade and i'm not sure of the ingredients on the rubs or sauces, i'm going to add 1 carb to each meat to be on the safe side.

Breakfast: Atkins Caramel Chew Bar 2 carbs
Lunch: Turkey slices- 1 carbs, cheese- 0 carbs, kosher dill spears-1 carb, Ball Park frank-5 carbs, shredded cheese-0 carbs mustard-.5 carbs AND 1 teaspoon of chili at .3 net carbs. (1 cup chili-14 net carbs/48 teaspoons in a cup/14 divided by 48 equals .29)
Dinner: Rotisserie Chicken- 1 carb, Brisket slice- 1 carb, Caesar Salad- Lettuce: 1 carb Caesar Dressing-1 carb
Day ten total: 13.8 carbs
