Why I'm Breaking Up With Carbs...

My low carb journey to weight loss!
I'm addicted to fried foods, and things smothered in chili and cheese! It doesn't help that I'm from TEXAS, home of the Fried everything! I'm 5'5 and my goal is to lose about 75lbs. AND I'm getting married next October and I want to look fabulous in a wedding dress!!
I'm blogging the entire experience here. Now for most, this would be easy, buy some veggies, grill your chicken and beef for the week for lunch, dinner, etc. But here is the thing, I do NOT cook, ever! Which is probably the main reason why I'm where I'm at, I lived off of fast food, and I still do. I eat out every single day of the week, so it's a bit more challenging for me to be on this new low carb diet. Oh yeah, it's not a diet, it's a "lifestyle change". I have the help of my wonderful boyfriend who decided he'd join me on this journey. Hope you enjoy reading my blog! xoxo Gina

Day seventeen

Lunch: Grilled chicken sandwhich (no bread) from Chick Fil A (I mix mayo+ mustard to dip my grilled chicken in)
Dinner: Luby's chopped steak w/green bean casserole (no fried onions) & dinner salad. (pic is what was left of the salad, I ate it so fast, another one of my favorite salads)

Day sixteen

Breakfast: bacon & egg (inside of breakfast taco)
Lunch: Chicken & Beef Fajita's w/shredded cheese & avacado
Dinner: Wendy's double meat burger w/cheese & side ceaser salad (very very tasty salad!)

Day fifteen

Lunch: Hungry Farmer bbq salad w/ranch
Dinner: Taco Cabana beef salad w/queso

Day fourteen

We slept in and woke up for dinner, I know that's really bad! So we made up for our breakfast, lunch, and dinner @ Golden Corral. (That's bad too, too much temptation there) But we managed not to fall off of the wagon!
I love making my own salad at Golden Corral, it's probably my favorite, with the real bacon, boiled eggs, and they have the best dressings! I had some roast & green beans to go along with it. The rolls there smelled so good, but at  42 carbs a roll, I knew I couldn't, not even 1/2, not even 1/4! This really makes me embarrassed to think I could easily put away 3-4 rolls before... Shameful!!!!! (168 carbs in one sitting not including mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and all of the others)

Day thirteen

Lunch: BJ's- Split Meatballs w/Jose & grilled chicken caesar salad
Dinner: Saltgrass Steakhouse: split appetizer w/Jose- beef tips wrapped in bacon w/jalepeno
dinner salad w/ranch & Monterrey chicken
(I'm assuming I ate entirely too much protein today)

Friday Weigh In

Every Friday, I will weigh in, I was weighing myself daily but I really want to be surprised now.

March 2, 2012 Total weight lost: 8lbs.

At first I was sad, I wanted it to be way more than this, especially since my boyfriend who is also doing this diet and has already lost 21lbs, and we started on the same day. But I have to stay positive, 8lbs is still alot, if you think about it, that is what some newborn babies weigh!

I found this picture of a random newborn baby that weighed 8lbs, this is how much weight I have lost. I am happy about that when I look at it this way:
