Why I'm Breaking Up With Carbs...
My low carb journey to weight loss!I'm addicted to fried foods, and things smothered in chili and cheese! It doesn't help that I'm from TEXAS, home of the Fried everything! I'm 5'5 and my goal is to lose about 75lbs. AND I'm getting married next October and I want to look fabulous in a wedding dress!!I'm blogging the entire experience here. Now for most, this would be easy, buy some veggies, grill your chicken and beef for the week for lunch, dinner, etc. But here is the thing, I do NOT cook, ever! Which is probably the main reason why I'm where I'm at, I lived off of fast food, and I still do. I eat out every single day of the week, so it's a bit more challenging for me to be on this new low carb diet. Oh yeah, it's not a diet, it's a "lifestyle change". I have the help of my wonderful boyfriend who decided he'd join me on this journey. Hope you enjoy reading my blog! xoxo GinaFollow me on INSTAGRAM @breakingupwithcarbs, simple & easy choices whether you are at home, at a restaurant or in the drive thru!

Embarrassed...
So my last post was in July, I was so sure I was gonna go back on living a low carb diet, but that didn't work out exactly as planned, in fact it didn't work out at all. With wedding planning, open houses at venues, tasting all of the caterers different foods, and wedding cake samples, the only good that has come out of all of this is that I did find a wedding venue. Lots of other things have happened in my life have contributed to eating comfortably I guess you could say. Not that any of this is to blame, but it definitely didn't make it easy to pass up on my favorite comfort foods. I had 3 deaths in my family between August -September. One uncle, an aunt and the closest to me which was my grandfather. I kept busy and ate, a lot, as much as I could, this is how I've coped and grieved. I picked out all of the sweets for the viewing, and everything that was left over we brought home, and I ate a little everyday until it was all gone, every twinkie, chocolate cupcake, powdered doughnut, oatmeal cream pie, and wafer. Then I just ate, I wasn't so big on fries anymore, but I couldn't stop eating bread, I was consuming so much bread, it was embarrassing, the sad part which I feel completely guilty about is that I was taking down my fiancé with me, we started this diet together, and here we were, breaking it together. It was a lot of fun don't get me wrong, but it had a horrible effect in our bodies, we'd eat and come home and go straight to bed. At one point we were pretty positive that my fiancé's diabetes were close to being rid of. I know that is not the case anymore. We both feel horrible, and have promised each other that this is it!!!! No looking back, no giving up, no cheating, we have no choice. I'm not even sure how much weight we have gained back this time but I'm not looking forward to find out, tonight will be our 1st time back in the gym in a loooooong while. I'll weigh myself tonight. And I'll probably cry, very hard. But, I'm staying positive from here on out, I've got wedding dress shopping in about 9 months, and I need to be in the best shape. Then I've gotta maintain that size/weight for a year after that. Weddings in less than two years, here goes nothing!!!
This is the most recent pic of me.

One month later...
It's been about a month since my last post, so much has happened since then, on 6/23/12, I got engaged, and decided to celebrate with cookies n cream ice cream. Up until two weeks ago, I was doing good, but allowing myself to eat more carbs than usual, especially when we were celebrating our engagement. Two weeks ago, I decided that I'd carb out carelessly for two weeks straight. I did, and I feel yucky. Yesterday (Monday) marked day 1 back at it. Yesterday for lunch I had a taco salad, for dinner I had the inside of a grilled chicken sandwich from Wendy's and one of their delicious side caesar salads. Today I had the inside of a bacon ranch chicken quesadilla from Chilli's, 1/2 of a small bowl of chili and a side salad w/ranch. For dinner I had beef and chicken fajitas and charro beans with a little bit of guacamole. I'm excited to see how this will work this time around, now that I've "jump started" this diet again. And somehow I've managed to maintain 30lbs lost... even though I feel like I've gained at least 20. Strange, the only good about it, is my bra's fit again!! hahaha

Low Carb Plateau
I've maintained 30lbs lost for a couple of weeks now, and I'v heard of people on Atkins hitting a plateau and only one thing seems to work to jump start the diet back up again, and that's what I like to call, "carbing out". So this is exactly what I did, it started on Sunday night, I did good for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but it was the dessert that started it all, we were celebrating my future step son's birthday and we ordered the volcano dessert from Rainforest Cafe, well, I couldn't resist, at first telling myself that I should allow myself to cheat on special occasions. It weighed on my head the rest of the night and the next day. At lunch, I was a good girl and grilled chicken. It was when dinner rolled around that I decided why not just carb out, I had already cheated, and after reading about people carbing out and jump starting their diet again, I knew it was the right choice. So we are sitting at Logan's Roadhouse and I can order anything on the menu, I ordered what I would ordinarily order before low carb, chicken strips, mashed potatoes with country gravy, macaroni and cheese and had more rolls than I care to admit. I was almost shaking ordering this, I didn't even get a salad, I mean I went all out. I felt guilty the entire time, and to my surprise, I didn't even finish half of it. I went to the gym after that and did some cardio on the treadmill & on the bike. That was yesterday, today is a rainy day but I made my way to Chick Fil A for a grilled chicken sandwich with a side salad and an unsweet tea. My tummy has been rumbling all day, so so loudly, louder than this thunder but nothing drastic has really happened, I'm nervous but I think I'm gonna carb out again tonight and then go back to my strict diet tomorrow. I can't wait to see how much weight I lose in the next two weeks after jump starting this diet again... that is if it works.... =/
My oh so bad horrible fattening dinner last night... NOT PROUD AT ALL!!!!!
My dessert from Sunday night and my step son, I only had a fraction of this volcano, I'm talking like 3 spoons.
